The Operations Leader is responsible for the delivery of all our products in Peru:
Planning and precision - realising the aims of existing products through understanding the philosophy of the company and the expectations of our clients. Diligence, accuracy and focus on detail are essential.
Traveling - visiting the communities in Peru, in order to sustain a meaningful and friendly dialogue with each community. It is anticipated that there will be several days spent outside Lima every month.
Team working - we are a small team of dedicated individuals; working as a part of that team, which grows significantly during our busier periods, is enormously important.The operations leader will work very closely with a small number of other people within the company, and more broadly with community members and our volunteers.
Communicating - we use this word a lot. We consider communicating with each other to be a primary responsibility of everyone.Communication between the Operations Leader and accounts is particularly important.
Budgeting - understanding our various budgets and adhering to them is one of the measures of success of the Operations Leader.
Leading - leading by example, through action and word, and through a personal desire to do the very best for the company, our communities our volunteers and our staff, is as important as anything else. The Operations Leader has an Operations Assistant throughout the year, but in July and August they are heading up a team of around 100.
Annual relocation – to Cusco. Much of our work takes place in and around Cusco. Our peak season is July and August, and we open an office in Cusco through June, July and August: the Operations Leader is expected to be in the city for those months.
- Fluent in Spanish and English. Quechua an advantage.
- Experience in working with communities in a developmental capacity or in tourism an advantage.
- A driving license and the ability to drive.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
